Dear Author,
TrueTale is an innovative platform that merges advanced AI with a deep appreciation for human creativity, aiming to revolutionize the world of unpublished literature.
Founded by an experienced professional who began his career working alongside his uncle at Luigi Bernabò Associates — the most prestigious literary agency in Italy, representing global icons such as Dan Brown, Ken Follett, Amy Tan, Rachel Kushner, Michael Cunningham, Donato Carrisi and many more — TrueTale seeks to democratize the publishing landscape by providing aspiring authors worldwide with tools, visibility, and opportunities previously reserved for the elite.

The Challenge in Traditional Publishing
In the traditional publishing ecosystem, countless manuscripts remain unread due to the overwhelming volume received by publishers and literary agents. Evaluating each submission thoroughly is often impractical, leaving many talented authors without the opportunity to have their work considered. This bottleneck prevents diverse voices from being heard and limits the discovery of new literary talents.
The Birth of TrueTale
Witnessing these challenges firsthand, we envisioned a solution that combines technological innovation with literary passion. By leveraging expertise in technology and artificial intelligence, TrueTale was created to develop an AI capable of reading and evaluating manuscripts, giving aspiring writers a chance to be noticed. This approach led to the creation of a ranking system and a literary competition, providing a structured pathway for authors to showcase their work.
SMTA: The Technological Core
At the heart of TrueTale lies its proprietary technology, SMTA (Semantic Matrix Text Analysis). Powered by OpenAI engine, this groundbreaking system reads and evaluates manuscripts with unparalleled precision, analyzing structure, themes, narrative flow, and more. SMTA is multilingual, capable of evaluating manuscripts in any language, and provides detailed critical reports (see one) along with overall scores, highlighting a manuscript’s strengths and areas for improvement.

Competitions and Opportunities
TrueTale hosts seasonal competitions open to all aspiring writers worldwide. The competition features a general category and six subcategories, ensuring seven distinct winners as the general category winner cannot also win in the subcategories. Winners receive digital publication on KDP and Apple Books, submission of their manuscript to major publishers and literary agents globally, a professional book cover and a dedicated interview published on TrueTale’s channels.
Future Directions
TrueTale is committed to continuous improvement, aiming to enhance its algorithm’s capabilities to provide increasingly reliable evaluations based on technical criteria, originality, and market potential. Plans include introducing new award categories for specific literary genres and short stories, as well as considering mentorship programs for winners, pairing them with professional editors to further develop their texts. And we are already working on our literary community, that will be an innovative space for authors — both published and aspiring — to collaborate on creative projects powered by cutting-edge AI.
Innovative Initiatives
Looking ahead, TrueTale is preparing to launch unique initiatives, such as a competition dedicated to the greatest bestsellers in history. By feeding famous titles into their artificial intelligence, the platform will analyze and rank them to determine which masterpiece stands out as the best. Additionally, TrueTale plans to undertake a thorough evaluation of “The Lord of the Rings” to test and showcase the capabilities of their technology in analyzing complex and richly layered texts.
Through these efforts, TrueTale aims to reshape the future of literature, providing a bridge between authors’ creativity and the global publishing world, ensuring that every storyteller has the opportunity to share their voice.
At the same time, we strive to honor a half-century tradition of love and passion for literature and its writers, celebrating their invaluable contributions to culture and storytelling.
